Desert Rhythm 2007 Part 2

More photos....

Desert Rhythm 2007

Attended the Dubai Desert Rhythm last night because a colleague of mine had spare ticket. It was not exactly my kind of music but I like live music. And it is a welcoming change to my normal weekend activities.

Performers include Kanye West, Leanne, Madness, Ziggy Marley and the Black Violin. Tried to take photos but the zoom in my camera is not very powerful.

RWC 2007

Went to the Barasti at the Le Meridien Hotel to watch the Rugby World Cup Final on Saturday.

Nice match. I don't know much about Rugby. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I watch a proper game. But in my opinion it is a more exciting game than football. South Africa won but I think English played a very good game overall.

I am so blessed

I got another parcel from a dear friend!
And it is the spanking new movie by Jay Chou. And with a beautiful personal note too.And while I was looking at it, I remember the lyrics of a song from The Sound of Music, "The hills are alive, with the sound of music....ahhhhh" Nah, just kidding. No, not that song, but this,
"Nothing comes from nothing. Nothing ever could.
"So somewhere in my youth or childhood, I must have done something good."
Hur hur. I am feeling very blessed today.

Cholesterol Shock

I came across this fast food joint called the ChicKing and was tempted to order oily unhealthy fried chicken. The friendly cashier urged me to try the new value set at 15 Dhm (approximately 7.5 SGD or 30 HKD)
The meal includes 4 pieces of spicy chicken, 2 warm buns, a small pack of fries, a small tub of coleslaw and a can of coke. For those who know me and my elastic stomach and super digestive power, I am sorry to inform you that I could not finish the meal.
It is basically a buddy meal for two! Err, to *finger licking good*, you'd better watch out. Your competitor is here!

Car wash

Was feeling a bit lazy and decided to take the car to a proper wash instead of washing it by myself. In any case my car also needed a professional clean lah.
I was impressed by how detailed the car wash was. The package includes car full body wash (manual wash on window, wheel, the metal parts and side mirrors), interior vacuuming, perfuming and even boot cleaning!
The car wash in Singapore definitely pales in comparison. For another additional 5 SGD, the service includes washing the bottom of the car as well! I left a generous tip (by my standard anyway, haha) and was very happy with my sparkling clean car.

Another mail from a dear friend!

I was suspicious when I first saw this parcel. I was not expecting a parcel and I could not recognise the sender.

But when I unwrapped the package, I saw a note with my friend's name on it and it is a 2008 calender of Cats from NTU!

So thank you KL. Thank you, thank you!!

Foggy Dubai

Due to the large diurnal temperature range in Dubai, the relative humidity in the morning is extremely high, resulting in heavy fog.

These are the views from my apartment. Pretty interesting right?

It's a good mail day today!

Received 2 packages today.
My first eBay win from the States.

And a parcel from my mother in Hong Kong!
