Friday Brunch at Burj Al Arab

My Dad wanted to dine in the Burj Al Arab and checked whether the hotel really lives up to its reputation. Therefore I booked a Friday Buffet Brunch at Al Muntaha, the restaurant at the top floor of Burj Al Arab, for the three of us.

The spread of food was excellent. The sea view was unbeatable. We had the Palm Jumeirah on our left and the World on our right. There was a live band and a good selection of liquors. I didn't manage to taste every single dish in the buffet. It was just impossible. How I wish I had a bigger appetite and a bigger stomach.

Our Table

The Palm Jumeirah

The World

The Live Band

And *drum roll* the FOOD

The Interior

The Private Beach

My word... you are living in luxury. YX and I wanted to visit you, but couldn't find a matching stretch of annual leave :P

Oh my god. The place look like a palace. How much does it cost per pax to eat the buffet there?

ZH: Drag YX into your luggage. By the time you two synchronize your holidays I may no longer be here.

QH: It costs me an arm, a leg and my left kidney.

Haha... I think YX should be the one to drag me into her luggage. I basically can't take any long leave this year... alamak only left a few weeks to the new year anyway!

Thanks for sharing the pics as I was tempted to see how the brunch looked like before going there.
As you said the view is splendid, the food is amazing and unless you did not eat for the past month or so, it is impossible to try everything...
Though it is not cheap, it is worth all the money you are asked for it and maybe even more.

I wanted to take a guest to visit the burj al arab and friday brunch seemed like an appropriate way. my guest really enjoyed the view however the management and the food was extremely over rated. on the website they advertise AED450 when you arrive they inform you its going to be actually AED550. bottle of water AED50 would be charged. the food was mediocre. the selection of dishes was poor. I was extremely shocked and did not think it was worth a AED1300. well over rated and over priced.

in addition to the above when i sent them an e mail to book a table i never received any response so i called and booked. then i received several phone calls telling me they are fully booked. even after i had been to the place i received a call to inform me about the lack of availability. in fact the restaurant was only running on 50% capacity. its a superb venue perhaps the food and bev department should select authentic selections and let people like me enjoy the food. The food selection was totally made up by people who do not have any taste buds. none of the cooking staf understand english very well. they seemed over worked underpaid labour and not real chefs from the 3rd world. i would not recommend anyone to the friday brunch at burj al arab.
