Hershey's Chocolate Raspberry Dessert

Went to a friend's birthday bash on Friday night and decided to bake a cake. I checked the recipe and got everything I needed.

Too bad I forgot to take a pic after the cake was finished. I didn't taste it but I figured it should be very very sweet, judging by the amount of sugar I poured into the cake mix!

Picasso Exhibition

There is a Picasso Exhibition in the Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi for the general public. Admission is free but the 2-hour drive each way between Dubai and Abu Dhabi is very daunting. Plus, Picasso is not exactly my favourite artist. (I prefer Van Gogh.)

However, judging from the responses from those who have went down to the exhibition, it is a good show as the pieces shown are from a wide range. So I made up my mind, filled up the fuel tank with petrol and drove all the way down.

The exhibition was good. Here are the pieces I like.

Road Advertisement

Saw this advertisment on my way to work. It is interesting, isn't it? It really makes me think how I'd want to live my life, even though I am not a star. ha.

Yum Cha

After working very hard on a report, I decided to celebrate and went to a cantonese restaurant in Dubai Marina to "yum cha". I ordered a table full of "dim sum" and congee for brunch.

I could feel the stare from the rest of the restaurant as I wolfed down all the food in a few gulps. My stomach was filled to the rim after the meal, and I was forced to skip dinner later in the evening.

Without further ado, here comes the food!

The Prawn Cheong Fun - Do not be fooled by the lighting. The cheong fun skin was not thin at all! The prawns were crunchy though.

Congee with century egg and chicken slices - There were only 2 bits of century egg in the congee. And the thing on top did not remotely resemble "you cha qwei" or "you tiao".

Siew Mai - Tasted great with real scallop on top.
Calamari - Tasted great too!

Movie night

Rented a copy of Zodiac and spent the night watching it and eating some pseudo-healthy snacks.

The movie was nice. Jake Gyllenhaal is obviously very cute. The movie is based on a true story about a serial killer in the U.S. It would have been a good night if not for the fact that it scared me to death when I thought Jake found himself with the serial killer alone, locked in a basement. I almost had a heart attack in my apartment.

A night in Muscat

Attended the last workshop in Muscat and went to a bar with colleagues in the Inter-Continental Hotel.

We played darts. This was my first time and I had so much fun. My bicep was sore for the following two days after a few sets of games. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to get a set for my place but decided not to as it would be rather risky when I have a cat who would chase after anything around.

The darts

The board

And Carlos, my Spanish colleague, beat all of us not only on the pool table, but also on the dart board by getting the bull eye TWICE on a row(see pic 1). And he did it without wearing his spectacles.

Koala Bear

A colleague of mine who worked in Dubai for a short term assignment last year comes back to Dubai for a month to settle some problems on site. It is always good to see familiar faces again. And he brought me a toy Koala Bear from Australia.

The cutest thing is, this bear sings when I press his belly.

I think I really have better friends than I deserve. So a big Thank You to you, Frank!
